Jane Wason - Partner
Gender: Female
Jane trained as a nurse in Edinburgh in 1980 and has built an exceptional career spanning over four decades across Scotland and England. After marrying her sailor husband, her early clinical experience included cardiothoracic nursing at the newly opened Derriford Hospital in Plymouth where she recalls watching LiveAid during a nightshift. This was followed by orthopaedic nursing at Bangour General Hospital in West Lothian.
Alongside raising her family – a son and a daughter who would also become a nurse; Jane continued to broaden her expertise through roles with the Sue Ryder Foundation, District Nursing in Livingston and as a Treatment Room Nurse in a busy GP practice in Wilmslow. A move to Dumfries and Galloway marked a pivotal stage in her career, where managing a care agency and working with Marie Curie ignited a lasting passion for palliative and end of life care. She went on to complete a diploma and degree in Palliative and Cancer Care and spent ten years as a Community Clinical Nurse Specialist with Macmillan, supporting patients across a large rural area.
More recently, after relocating to Devon, Jane was appointed Community Matron in Holsworthy, a role she describes as one of the most rewarding of her career, building strong and lasting relationships with patients and colleagues alike. She was later invited by RCMG to develop and lead a home visiting team for the practice, bringing together her clinical expertise, leadership skills, and deep commitment to compassionate, patient‑centred care.
As a partner, Jane is known for her calm, approachable manner and dedication to high quality community care. She brings a wealth of experience, a strong values based approach and a genuine passion for supporting patients and colleagues across the practice.
