Covid vaccination

Covid Vaccination Clinics at Holsworthy Medical Centre

We have now completed all the clinics being run by our PCN at Holsworthy Medical Centre. Walk-in clinics are still available in the local area but are being run by Devon County Council (Holsworthy area) and Kernow CCG (Bude area). We are unable to answer queries about the running of the clinics at our surgeries. We will share any information we have as we receive it, however. Please also check our Facebook page.
We do have a PCN Vaccination Line for people with queries about Covid vaccs and other vaccs across the five practices in our PCN. This is run by our PCN Vaccination Care Co-ordinator, Heather. The line is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:30am-4:30pm. Call 01409 255254. This is not a booking line.

Covid vaccs who and when

Vaccinations for 5-11 year-olds in the Clinically Extremely Vulnerable (CEV) group have now all been done. A specialist nursing team based at North Devon Healthcare Trust have contacted all parents and there has been a fantastic response. Thank you everyone!

Parents of 5–11 year-olds who are not CEV, will now be able to attend some walk-in clinics where stated, or book a covid vaccine for their child by calling 119, or going online to the National Booking Service.

Please be mindful that vaccine supplies may be limited.

Thursday 25th August

For a full list of walk-in centres go to: WALK-IN-CENTRES

Please take ID and NHS number if possible. Gaps between vaccs  for those 16 and above should be 8 weeks between 1st and 2nd vacc; 3 months (91 days) between 2nd and booster.

Available to all, irrespective of registered practice.

If you need a first, second or booster vaccination please use the National Covid Vaccination booking site on-line or call 119 to find out what's available.
Follow this link to the on-line booking site: MAKE A BOOKING
Booster vaccinations can only be given 3 months (91 days) after a second vaccination; second vaccinations can only be given 8 weeks after the first vaccination.

SPRING BOOSTERS for over 75s

The spring booster programme is for:

  • Anyone aged 75 and above
  • Anyone aged 12 and above who are immunocompromised

The vaccinations are not being delivered by your PCN or GP practice, allowing them to focus on already incredibly busy practice services. Good local providers (such as Devon County Council) will be offering walk-in clinics at the usual local venues in Holsworthy and Bude throughout March, April, May and beyond. For local dates and venues see above sections.

If you prefer to book into a clinic through 119, or using NBS on-line, you are still able to do this. Please do not call your surgery about the booster programme. 119 will advise.

  • Those aged 12 and above, who are immunocompromised, must have a gap of 3 months since their last dose.
  • Those aged 75 and above must have a gap of 6 months since their last booster/dose.

Outreach Services will be providing booster vaccinations to care homes and to our housebound patients who are 75 and above.

For more information please go to: SPRING BOOSTERS

As local surgeries, we will not be calling or contacting patients individually about their boosters but will be working in other ways to ensure that everyone eligible for a vaccination is aware that they are happening. Please share this information with anyone you think may benefit. Thank you.

Vaccinations are being carried out to those medically unable to attend walk-in clinics by:

  • North Devon Hospital Trust visiting team: Devon patients only
  • Coast & Country Primary Care Network visiting team: Cornwall patients only

Patients will be contacted ahead of the visit to advise of date and approximate time.

AUTUMN 2022 BOOSTERS for 50s and overs

For government information regarding the proposed booster vaccinations to be offered to those aged 50 and above this autumn, please click HERE. How this will be delivered, is still under discussion.

Errors with your vaccinations

Vaccinations given here

If there is an error with your vaccine records and it was given by us, please call 01409 253692 and tell us about this issue. We will try to amend the error the same day, which updates on the national system within 24 hours.

Vaccines given elsewhere

We are unable to change vaccine records completed elsewhere. If you have an issue with a record that was given at a different site, please contact that site to have any errors amended. If you are unable to contact the site who gave you the vaccine, please call 119 and ask for a VDRS referral. Someone from that team will then call you back and help you woth the query or correction. Once a record has been amended, it will take 24 hours to update on the national system.

Vaccines given in other parts of the UK should now appear in the English NHS System.

If you received any of your COVID-19 vaccinations overseas, you can now book an appointment with a local vaccination centre to get your vaccination records updated. Check the criteria and book an appointment HERE

NHS Covid Pass

The NHS Covid Pass can be found on your NHS App. If you have vaccine records, or a positive test to Covid, you can receive a Covid Pass. This is to be used when travelling, and may be used for more in the future (events, nightclubs etc). The NHS Covid Pass is seperate to our clinical system, so if there is a technical issue we are unable to help. Please dial 119 if there is an issue with your Covid Pass.

For those who had their vaccines abroad we are unable to link your vaccine to the Covid Pass. There is an update that is planned for later this year to pick up vaccines in medical records as well as those given on site. We do not know when this is going to happen. In preperation, we are able to put vaccines given abroad onto your medical record. This will not be picked up until the update. We have also been told there is work being completed to form a national team to deal with any queries regarding this, but we have no further information on this yet.

If you need a paper vaccine record, please call 119. We are unable to supply any form of Covid Pass.
